I studied for about a year, and used the ExSim-Max for about 3 months before the exam. Even though I scored 630 - 700 on the Boson practice exams, I passed my test.
The question format is right on par with what you might see on the exam. For me, the most valuable piece was the detailed explanations on each question. It goes into great detail on why certain answers are wrong, and why the correct answer is right. On top of that, it has links to study resources.
If you pay for 1 study resource for this exam, let it be the ExSim Max.

These were very well written. There are some questions that could be considered outdated because they are from the previous CCNP Enterprise, but Cisco also drew some questions from that old pool.
Good explanations, but they are a bit too long. Better than being too short.
Passed the real exam my first try, despite not passing these the first try. My initial scores were between 600-800 (825 is passing).
